08 - 09 Jan, 3H - FaaSai

It is time to say goodbye to the farm and take the yellow bus back to Chiang Mai at around 6.30 in the morning. After a 1-hour thai massage by blind masseurs and some lunch, we get on a train to Bangkok. It departs at 5pm and arrives around 8.30am the next morning with a 1.5 hour delay: 2nd class, upper beds, THB 860/person. The conductor makes the bed neatly with a clean sheet and blanket for everyone, and waiters keep coming to take orders for dinner and breakfast. In Bangkok we see no sign of the protest during our short stay. We get around by skytrain and metro to check the visa process at the Burmese Embassy. A 4.5 hour journey from Bangkok to Chanthaburi for THB 410/person includes a snack and water. From Chanthaburi bus station we need to take a taxi for THB 400 to our next stop, Faa Sai Resort.
